Lionel 265E Vintage O Prewar LL Commodore Vanderbilt Steam Locomotive w/Tender

This is a Lionel 265E Vintage O Prewar LL Commodore Vanderbilt Steam Locomotive w/Tender from 1935-40. This type III blue version was produced between 1936-1938. The locomotive features all tinplate construction, a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, a decorative smoke unit, metal side rods, metal wheels and exquisite detail. The tender features all tinplate construction, a rear drawbar, tinplate trucks with silver journals, an operating whistle, metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards (Restored/Repainted) R-3: Good based on visual appearance. These items show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. These items show spots of rust on the couplers and wheel sets. One of the eccentric cranks on the locomotive is broken. The name plates on both items are lifted and partially loose. This item has been repainted by the previous owner. Both items ran when tested but the locomotive would occasionally stop before moving again. The overall appearance of each item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning.
