Lionel 1668E Vintage O 2-6-2 Gunmetal Streamline Steam Locomotive & Tender VG

Here is a Lionel 1668E Gunmetal 2-6-2 Die Cast Pennsylvania Torpedo Type Steam Locomotive and 1689W Gunmetal Tender from 1937-41. The locomotive features a motor with 3-position E-unit and working headlight. The sheet-metal tender has clean stamped metal trucks with nickel journals and a rear latch coupler.

Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the "Prairie" model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The locomotive is non-functional and being sold As-Is. The locomotive shows bubbling in the shell paint. Both units show rusting on the shells. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. The locomotive and tender show rust throughout various sections of the chassis and trucks. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
