Lionel 165 Vintage O Operating Gantry Crane with Electromagnet VG/Box

Here is a Lionel 165 Vintage O Operating Gantry Crane with Electromagnet from 1940-42. Gantry Cranes are one of Lionel‘s greatest accessories. You can rotate the cab right or left, raise and lower the hook, and turn the electromagnet on and off all by remote control. When you turn on the electromagnet you can pick up small steel items and load and unload them, like from your scrap yard and into waiting gondolas. When the electromagnet is on there is also a red light in the cab that illuminates as well. It measures approximately 10 inches in height.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item displays scratches and spots of paint loss across each surface. The ladder piece is heavily bent out of shape. The outer layer of the electromagnet cable is slightly frayed. This item is non-functional and is being sold as-is. The original box is included, but is brittle and heavily worn along the edges and corners. The instruction manual is not included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item.
