Lionel 003 New York Central OO 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive & Tender/Box

This is a Lionel 5342 New York Central OO Scale 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive and Tender. The locomotive features die-cast metal construction, a motor, a smoke stack, a decorative bell, metal side rods, metal wheels and exquisite detail. The tender features die-cast metal construction, a knuckle coupler, die-cast metal trucks, metal wheels and axles. The 003 is the super detailed version for use with 2-rail OO Gauge track.

Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world.

This item has been graded per TCA standards (Restored/Repainted) R-3: Good based on visual appearance. This item did not operate when tested, and is being sold as-is. This locomotive and tender has been repainted by previous owner. This locomotive and tender show scratches and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. One of the marker jewels is missing from the front of the locomotive. This locomotive and tender show rust on the chassis and trucks. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original boxes are included.
