Here is a MTH 30-11008 No. 152 Operating Crossing Gate. This accessory is a reproduction of the Lionel 152 from the 1930s and 40s. When activated by a passing train the gate swings down and rises back up once the train passes. It also has a pedestrian gate for blocking a sidewalk.
