Lionel 627 Vintage O Gauge Lehigh Valley 44 Ton Diesel Locomotive VG

Here is a Lionel 627 Vintage O Gauge Lehigh Valley 44 Ton Diesel Locomotive #627. Introduced in 1956, the 44-tonner was used by Lionel in several O27 starter sets in the late 1950s. While being drastically out of scale compared to the actual prototype, the 44-tonner is nonetheless a unique addition to the Lionel line. The 625 Lehigh Valley was the first of the series. It features a single motor with Magnetraction, 3-position E-unit, decorative bell & horn, die-cast side frame trucks and two operating couplers. It has an unpainted red plastic body with horizontal white stripes on both sides and a black painted frame.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. This locomotive shows scratches and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. There is also some rust and leftover grease on the chassis and trucks. The railings on the front and back of the shell are slightly loose. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Very Good.
