Lionel 602 Vintage O Seaboard NW-2 Powered Diesel Locomotive #602 VG

Here is a Lionel 602 Vintage O Seaboard NW-2 Powered Diesel Locomotive from 1957-58. The 602 Seaboard NW2 Switcher was introduced in 1957 as an 027 gauge diesel. The external appearance it is very similar to the 601 Seaboard switcher offered in 1956. Of the two Seaboard switchers, the 601 is preferred as it has dual knuckle couplers -- a feature lacking on the 602. This is unfortunate, since a switcher is frequently used to couple and uncouple freight cars in a freight yard. It was available as a separate sale item in both years, 1957 and 1958. However, Lionel only included this diesel in one set, a 1957 set. Features include a decorative bell, a single vertical motor with 2-axle Magnetraction, a 3-position E-unit, an operating headlight, an operating horn, die-cast metal trucks, plastic knuckle couplers and metal wheels. It also has a black and red painted body with white lettering and Seaboard medallion decals on the cab sides.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item has small spots of rusting. There are large nicks and scratches on the surface of the shell and chassis. The wheels show average run-time. The original box is not included. The instruction manual is not included.
