Lionel 6-9218 O Gauge Monon Mail Operating Boxcar EX/Box

This is a Lionel 6-9218 O Gauge Monon Mail Operating Boxcar from 1981. This car is a remake of the postwar Lionel 3494-550 of 1957. To operate this car, you park it over a standard uncoupler which draws down the operating plunger to open the door and the man throws out the mailbag! This boxcar features sliding doors, die-cast metal sprung trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. There are nicks and scratches on the underside of this unit. There is also some wear on the plastic where the wheel assemblies scrape to get turned over to fit in the box. The previous owner has placed stickers on this item's packaging. The mail bag is included, it is taped to the bottom of the unit. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item.
