Lionel 6-28302 O Gauge BNSF SD70ACe Diesel Locomotive #9380 EX

This is a Lionel 6-28302 BNSF SD70ACe Diesel Locomotive #9380 with TrainMaster Command Control. With its distinctive angular nose, wide cab, flat-sided fuel tanks, and wide cooling air intake "wings", the SD70ACe locomotive was noticeably different from previous SD70 diesels. It was also more environmentally friendly, having been updated to meet new EPA regulations for railroad locomotives. There were a handful of original buyers of this impressive diesel locomotive, including Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Kansas City Southern, and Ferromex. For 2008, Lionel offers the Standard O SD70ACe in these three roadnames. BNSF SD70ACe is decorated in the new Heritage III orange and yellow paint scheme, featuring the company's newest "swoosh" logo on the sides and nose. The Kansas City Southern SD70ACe captures the railroad's recent switch on many of its locomotives to yellow, red, and Brunswick green, a paint scheme that once adorned its famous Southern Belle passengers cars. Ferromex, or "Mexican Railroad", is one of the country's largest railroad systems, which interconnects major Mexican cities including ones that border the United States. The Ferromex SD70ACe by Lionel is handsomely adorned in green, red, and white--the colors of the Mexican flag. The powered unit features LEGACY Control System equipped-able to run in LEGACY Control mode, in TrainMaster Command Control mode, or in Conventional mode with a standard transformer, Odyssey II Speed Control with ON/OFF switch, LEGACY RailSounds sound system featuring: CrewTalk dialog and TowerCom announcements, each with different scenarios depending on whether the locomotive is in motion or stopped, Five official railroad speeds with CrewTalk dialog, Eight diesel RPM levels, LEGACY "Real-Time Quilling Horn" control with instant response for realistic signature "quilling" and correctly timed warning signals, Single hit or continuous mechanical bell sounds, Front and rear ElectroCouplers, Dual powerful maintenance-free motors with momentum flywheels, Refined Conventional Transformer Control Mode with lower starting speeds, Traction tires, Fan-driven smoke unit, Adjustable smoke output, Directional lighting including LED headlights, Operating marker lights, Illuminated number boards, Illuminated cab interior, Die-cast metal trucks, pilot, and fuel tank, Metal frame, Separately applied metal details, Engineer and brakeman figures, Gauge: Standard O, Dimensions: Length: Approx. 17 1/2", and the Minimum Curve radius is O-36.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. There are light nicks and scratches on the surface of the shell and chassis. Additionally, the railings on this item show light spots of paint chips and some have been slightly bent out of shape. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
