Lionel 3665 Vintage O Minuteman Missile Launching Car W/ Light Blue Roof VG

This is a Lionel 3665 Minuteman Missile Launching Car from 1961-64. This features a concealed launching mechanism and missile inside the boxcar with an opening roof. To operate the car, cock the spring loaded mechanism, put the rocket on it, and close the nicely fitting roof halves. To remotely launch the missile, either park it or run it slowly over a remote control track section. When triggered the roof opens and the launching mechanism slowly raises and then the missile launches at your unsuspecting target! This car features plastic trucks, operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles. This unit includes the white bottom, red tip missile variation.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. Both halves of the roof are reproduction parts. There is rust present on the unit in the wheel assemblies and knuckle couplers. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The wheels show average run-time. this unit has turned yellow with age. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
