Lionel 3519 Vintage O Satellite Launching Car

Here is a Lionel 3519 Vintage O Satellite Launching Car from 1961-64. This is one of the best operating of the Military/Space cars that Lionel produced throughout the sixties. You wind up the spring loaded launcher mechanism on the car and then set the satellite on it. Then you can either manually hit the trigger button, or activate it remotely from any electromagnet equipped remote control track (see the 6019 or UCS tracks), and the satellite launches. Typically these will actually launch 10 to 15 feet in the air if you wind it tight enough. Almost high enough to orbit your layout! This launching car features plastic trucks, operating knuckle couplers, and metal wheels and axles. Please see my pictures for additional features.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. There are nicks and scratches on the surface of the flatcar, satellite and underside. The screws, couplers, wheels and axels have rust on them. The metal trim pieces have some signs of corrosion on them. The yellow satellite dish is missing. The launcher satellite's top part is loose and comes off easily. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included. Overall condition is Good.
