Here is a Lionel 2627 Vintage O Lionel Lines Madison Heavyweight "Madison" Passenger Car. This is the version with silhouettes in the windows and the first L in Lionel Lines is above the left window in the center group. The 2627 Pullman Passenger Car is part of the Madison-style passenger car series. This term -- Madison-style -- was not used by Lionel in its catalogues or literature, but was created by Lionel enthusiasts during the postwar era. To this day, the Madison-style passenger cars remain in demand by collectors and operators. It features opening doors, a strong bakelite body, an illuminated interior, silhouetted window strips, 6-wheel plastic sided trucks with metal wheels and axles and operating electro-couplers and is 15 inches long. The Madison cars were Lionel‘s top of the line passenger cars in the 1940s.
