Lionel 2627 Vintage O Lionel Line Madison Heavyweight Passenger Car -Repainted

This is a Lionel 2627 Lionel Lines Heavyweight Madison Passenger Car from 1948 to 1950. The 2627 Pullman Passenger Car is part of the Madison-style passenger car series. This term -- Madison-style -- was not used by Lionel in its catalogues or literature, but was created by Lionel enthusiasts during the postwar era. To this day, the Madison-style passenger cars remain in demand by collectors and operators. It features opening doors, a strong Bakelite body, an illuminated interior, clear window strips, 6-wheel plastic sided trucks with metal wheels. The Madison cars were Lionel‘s top of the line passenger cars in the 1940s.
