Lionel 2625 Vintage O Custom Lionel Lines Madison Irvington Coach Car #2625

Here is a Lionel 2625 Vintage O Custom Lionel Lines Heavyweight Irvington Passenger Car #2625 from 1946-47. The 2625 Pullman Passenger Car is part of the Madison-style passenger car series. This term -- Madison-style -- was not used by Lionel in its catalogues or literature, but was created by Lionel enthusiasts during the post-war era. To this day, the Madison-style passenger cars remain in demand by collectors and operators. The 2625 is a unusual car. It was produced with three different car names during its production era. For 1946 and 1947, the 2625 was produced with Irvington, Madison and Manhattan lettering below the windows. Beginning in 1948, the Madison and Manhattan cars were assigned their own numbers -- 2627 and 2628 respectively -- and the 2625 was only available with the Irvington name. It features a Bakelite body, an illuminated interior, clear window strips, plastic truck sides with operating metal couplers, and metal wheels and axles. It measures approximately 15" inches long. The Irvington cars were Lionel‘s top of the line passenger cars in the 1940s.

This item has been graded per TCA standards (Restored/Repainted) R-3: Good based on visual appearance. There are nicks, scratches, paint loss and paint chipping on the surface of the shell and chassis. There are some stains on the undercarriage and trucks. One of the doors is loose and stays open. The window panels are broken in multiple places. The item was tested but the illumination was flickering. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
