Lionel 224 Vintage O 2-6-2 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive with 2466W Tender

Here is a Lionel 224 Vintage O 2-6-2 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive with 2466W Tender from the 1940s. The 224 is one of the few Lionel engines made in both the Prewar and Postwar eras. It features a die cast metal body, motor, 3-position E-Unit, and an operating headlight. It does not have a smoke unit, which is why it was dropped from the Lionel line after 1946 and replaced by the smoking 675/2025 engines. A 2466W Tender is included which features a plastic shell, metal frame, whistle, box coupler, die cast trucks, metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. These items show heavy scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. These cars show rust throughout various sections of the chassis, wheels and trucks. The overall appearance of each item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning.
