American Flyer 429 Vintage O Gauge 0-6-0 Steam Switcher W/Tender -Repainted

Here is an American Flyer 429 Vintage O Gauge 0-6-0 Steam Switcher W/Tender. This engine is one of the last O Gauge Flyer engines made before AF switched to the 3/16 scale O Gauge trains in 1941. The engine features a reverse unit, motor, an operating headlight, metal side rods, and metal wheels. The tender features metal construction, metal stamped journals, a backup light, and metal wheels and axles.

Upon its introduction during the 19th century, the 0-6-0 would quickly become one of the most widely used models in many rail-yards due to its versatility becoming a favored unit over its 0-4-0 and 0-8-0 counterparts. With their ability to operate on both heavy and light railways, the 0-6-0 would become a staple in rail-yards all over the world!

This item has been graded per TCA standards (Restored/Repainted) R-3: Good based on visual appearance. Both items have been repainted and some point in time by the previous owner, as they show visible strokes, white paint dabs, and some visible lines. Although repainted, there are still light signs of paint chips and wear throughout their surfaces. The overall appearance of these items may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning.
